The joints are held in place with spiral circlips which are fiddly to refit until you know the trick - wind them in to start with and then work steadily around the joint. The only place I've found that sells them is Caterham Cars The old and new balljoints side by side. The left one is showing signs of the lining breaking down inside the joint, leading to movement The wishbone with the joint removed. You can just see the circlip groove near the bottom of the wishbone (the bearing is fitted from below) My improvised puller to get the new joint into the hole - a length of 10mm threaded rod, two bolts some oversized washers and a 21mm socket to act as a 'drift' The balljoint from above , in the centre of the photo The balljoint from below

The area to the left of the stoneguard has been armourfended, but the area below hasn't. The stone damage is obvious. It probably would have helped if I'd washed it first There is less damage on the left side because the exhaust protects the wing.
